Responsible for performing express lube duties. This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential duties include adhering to express lube guidelines, performing lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil and filter, lubricating all joints including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rods ends and ball joints, reporting all necessary repairs to service consultant, installing completed LOF reminder sticker in vehicle, checking battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refilling as needed, checking coolant level and refilling as necessary, ensuring that vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints, checking fluid level prior to release of vehicle to ensure proper levels, adhering to all current OSHA guidelines, and maintaining CSI at or above Company standards. Qualifications include basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems, demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge, technical training or commensurate technical experience, ability to deal effectively with customers and dealership personnel, ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees, ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, ability to understand and follow instructions and technical manuals, and a valid Driver’s License. Duties are performed primarily in the service area and include movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. The Lube Technician may be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions and frequently interacts with service advisors and the service manager. Physical demands include lifting up to 25 pounds, standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Competencies include analytical skills, problem solving, customer service, teamwork, organizational support, attendance/punctuality, dependability, planning/organizing, professionalism, quality, and quantity.
