Registered Nurse – Cath Lab / Electrophysiology (EP)\n\nShift: Days – 5x8-hour shifts (08:00–16:30) or 4x10-hour shifts (08:00–18:00)\nLocation: [Facility Name] – MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina), Charleston, SC\nAssignment Length: [Insert Duration]\nStart Date: ASAP\n\nPosition Summary:\n\nThe Cath Lab / EP Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and electrophysiology procedures. The RN will monitor, circulate, and assist with cases involving PCI, Impella, Balloon Pump, Shockwave, CSI, and device procedures. This position requires rapid critical thinking, technical skill, and the ability to respond promptly to emergent STEMI and EP situations.\n\n⚠️ Travelers must live within 30 minutes of the facility to ensure timely on-call response for STEMI cases.\n\nRequirements:\n\nExperience:\n\nMinimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab and EP experience (required)\n\nFirst -time travelers accepted if experienced in both specialties\n\nPreferred Experience:\n\nScrub, circulate, and monitor in all Cath/EP cases\n\nTilt Table Studies, Cardioversion, Vascular (Carotid & Peripheral), PFA, Watchman\n\nRadiation safety compliance (radiation badge required — provided by agency)\n\nLicensure & Certifications:\n\nActive South Carolina RN License or Compact License (must be in hand prior to start)\n\nBLS and ACLS – American Heart Association only (AHA)\n\nSystems & Equipment:\n\nCharting: Epic / MAC Lab\n\nRadiation Badge: Required (agency- provided)\n\nSchedule Details:\n\nShift Options: 5x8s (08:00–16:30) or 4x10s (08:00–18:00)\n\nCall Requirement: 1–2 weekends per month\n\nWeekend Requirement: Matches call schedule (1–2 per month)\n\nBlock Scheduling: May be approved prior to assignment (not guaranteed)\n\nGuaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks\n\nFloating: No floating required\n\nFacility Highlights:\n\nHospital: MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina)\n\nTotal Staffed Beds: 396\n\nCharting System: Epic / MAC Lab\n\nScrubs: Hospital-issued\n\nParking: Free\n\nLocal Radius Rule: No locals within 60 miles accepted\n\nRTO Policy: Must be submitted at time of application; subject to facility approval\n\nAdditional Note – Hurricane Season:\n\nTravelers should be aware that June through November is hurricane season. All employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during this period. Travelers unable to meet this requirement should avoid confirming new or extended assignments during the season.
