Systems Administrator (Remote)

RDA Systems is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our growing team. This is a fully remote position where you’ll play a key role in supporting our cloud-based ERP solutions for schools, towns, and counties across the U.S.

You’ll work across infrastructure, application deployment, and client support—collaborating closely with both our support team and development team . At RDA, no one works in a silo. What You’ll Do

• Support and troubleshoot client environments via remote desktop and other tools

• Manage and maintain Linux-based systems ( Ubuntu preferred)

• Configure and deploy web servers and applications ( Apache , Tomcat , Ansible )

• Oversee cloud infrastructure ( GCP preferred) including provisioning, scaling, and monitoring

• Develop and maintain automation scripts ( bash , Python preferred)

• Administer and optimize relational databases ( MySQL / MariaDB , SQL queries)

• Manage networking, firewalls, and security configurations

• Support application deployments, updates, and integrations

• Collaborate with the team on process improvement, documentation, and client success

Tech Stack You’ll Work With

• Linux (Ubuntu)

• Apache, Tomcat

• Ansible or other provisioning tools

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent

• Bash, Python scripting

• MariaDB/MySQL & SQL

• Version control ( SVN ; Git experience a plus)

• Bonus: Development exposure to Java, C/C++

What We’re Looking For

• 2–4 years of systems administration experience (cloud and on-prem)

• Hands-on networking, configuration management, and database experience

• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently when needed

• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration with clients and teammates

• Security awareness and a commitment to maintaining reliable, secure systems

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)

This position can be filled by a vast range of experienced and skilled candidates. We are more concerned about attitude than experience & knowledge. The salary will be commensurate with competitive market rates. RDA is a fully remote company and this position is fully remote.
