Job Description
About us:
A boutique CPA firm located in downtown St. Charles has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant. The right candidate will enjoy working in a small office environment while gaining valuable experience from being exposed to a wide variety of tasks and diverse clientele.
Responsibilities:
Assist with reviewing the work of other staff members while working on more complex accounting and tax engagements
Individual and business tax return preparation and review
Periodic and year-end accounting services for a variety of business clients
Payroll, sales, and other miscellaneous tax services
Maintain a close relationship with clients and promote the firm's mission of being a trusted business advisor
Minimum Qualifications:
5-6 years of previous experience in public accounting
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
Experience with individual and business income tax return preparation and detail review
Experience with general ledger analysis, account reconciliations, and preparation of periodic/closing journal entries
Solid understanding of payroll taxes, including special situations
Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software, CCH Axcess or similar tax software, and MS Excel
An outgoing personality, and a "will do" attitude
