About the Role

We’re building a dedicated Safety & Compliance Team to lead the charge in technical garment safety—and we’re hiring a  Safety Officer with specialized expertise in Arc-Rated (AR) clothing to join it.

This role is hands-on and technical, focused specifically on AR garment design, labeling, certification, and lifecycle compliance under NFPA 70E, ASTM F1506, and related PPE standards. You'll work with our product and QA teams to ensure every CAT 2 and CAT 4 garment is properly engineered, tested, and documented—down to the calorie rating and the last thread.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the internal subject matter expert on Arc-Rated (AR) garment design and compliance
• Ensure adherence to NFPA 70E, ASTM F1959, ASTM F1506, and OSHA 1910 PPE regulations
• Maintain a centralized database of arc testing certifications, fabric specs, ATPV ratings, and garment performance data
• Support the product development team in selecting AR-rated fabrics, trims, and constructions
• Help implement garment labeling systems (e.g., CAT level, ATPV, compliance tags)
• Conduct audits and reviews of AR product lines to ensure end-to-end safety integrity
• Collaborate with sourcing, QA, and safety teammates to strengthen all PPE-related processes and documentation
• Stay current on updates in AR/FR standards and testing methodologies

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in arc-rated clothing manufacturing, testing, or safety compliance
• Deep knowledge of NFPA 70E, ASTM F1506/F1959, and PPE regulations (OSHA 1910.269, 1910.132, etc.)
• Experience working with AR fabrics and testing labs (e.g., arc flash simulations, ATPV/EBT ratings)
• Familiarity with suppliers like Westex, Mount Vernon Mills, or similar
• Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and safety mindset
• Ability to travel 25–35% of the time across the Southeast for facility visits and audits
