Summary:

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of aircraft MRO experience and a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, with the ability to apply them to solve real-world problems. They are highly motivated, competitive, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Engineering skills will be used to troubleshoot, design, analyze, and repair aircraft components, tooling, and test systems.

Duties:

• Develop new repairs or industrialize existing CMM repairs.
• Investigate assembly/production issues and develop practical, viable solutions.
• Create 3D CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and repair/modification work instructions.
• Perform stress analysis to ensure the structural integrity of repaired components.
• Write engineering reports to demonstrate compliance with FAA regulations.
• Assist in aircraft component failure investigations and warranty assessments.
• Provide technical support to other departments as a liaison.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 10 years of experience in the aviation industry, preferably with LRU, APU, or jet engine component repair or aircraft powerplant engineering.
• Strong understanding of engineering mechanics, including metallic material properties, stress analysis methods, and fluid flow.
• Knowledge of FAA requirements and regulations.
• Experience with thermal spray and electroplating processes.
• Direct experience with various LRU or jet engine component repair processes.
• Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
