Mechanic 1 or 2 - Mobile Maintenance

Location:

East Boulder Mine - McLeod, MT

Schedule:

5x4, 4x5 - 11.5-hour days

We're looking for experienced Mechanics to perform hands-on repairs and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of underground and surface mobile equipment. Whether it's diesel engines, drills, LHDs, or remote-controlled machinery, you'll play a key role in supporting our mining operations with safety, precision, and pride.

What You'll Do

• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on mobile mining equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and service diesel-powered and electrically operated machinery.
• Maintain and repair underground and surface equipment, including LHDs, drills, rail haulage, hoists, crushers, conveyors, air compressors, and pumps.
• Operate safely following company and regulatory procedures, including proper lock-out/tag-out practices.
• Ensure equipment is operating at peak performance to maximize productivity and safety.

What You Bring

Required:

• Proven experience maintaining and repairing diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.
• Knowledge of rigging, overhead crane operation, and equipment safety protocols.
• Effective written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must own or be willing to obtain the required tools (tool allowance provided).

Preferred:

• Underground mining equipment maintenance experience.
• Welding and cutting experience (gas/arc welding, oxy-acetylene).
• Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and computer systems.

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or GED
