Junior Cash Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cash Accountant to join our finance team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timely processing of our cash transactions. Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent,1 year post secondary education preferred.
• College coursework in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline.
• 2-4 years’ experience in Cash Application or Accounts Receivable may partially substitute college education.
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance card and background check.
• First Aid and CPR Certification.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Process and record daily cash receipts and disbursements.
• Prepare bank deposits and reconcile bank statements.
• Maintain accurate records of cash transactions and prepare reports as needed.
• Document and keep updated procedures.
• Assist with the month end close process.
• Ensure departments internal controls, policies and procedures are properly followed.
• Perform various other duties and projects assigned.
• Ability to meet all deadlines – daily, weekly, monthly.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Proficient applying cash in an ERP system, Sage Intacct a plus.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and some ability to analyze, explain and draw logical conclusions from data.
• Demonstrate resourcefulness and excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
