A leading environmental remediation and civil construction firm is hiring a Health & Safety Officer to support multiple construction projects throughout Northern California. This role blends field safety, compliance, training, and environmental health responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Conduct health & safety site audits, inspections, and safe work observations
✅ Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and project-specific HSE programs
✅ Develop & maintain site-specific Health & Safety Plans (HASP), JSA’s, and compliance documentation
✅ Manage incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analyses
✅ Support subcontractor HSE qualification and documentation reviews
✅ Provide administrative support for certifications, training, and safety metrics
✅ Work closely with management, superintendents, field staff, and agency partners to ensure safety compliance
Required Qualifications:
✔ Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of industry experience (construction/environmental remediation)
✔ Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards, Title 17, BAAQMD Rule 8, and Industrial Hygiene practices
✔ OSHA 500 or 510 certification strongly preferred
✔ Skilled in behavior-based safety programs and regulatory compliance
✔ Proficient with MS Office & HSE data management
✔ Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
✔ Ability to travel regularly throughout Northern California job sites
