HBF Forklift Operator - Moses Lake Production Campus The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. **Summary** This job is responsible for operating material handling equipment in a safe manner for the purpose of moving, locating, stacking, and counting merchandise. The High-Bay Freezer (HBF) Lift Truck Operator safely maintains an orderly and efficient cold storage warehouse. **There are two plant facilities that make up the Moses Lake Production Campus. The selected candidate for this role will begin their training at one of these facilities and then will be assigned to one of the two locations after training is complete.** **Key Responsibilities** + Operate a forklift to move totes from production line to the warehouse + Ability to load, unload, high stack and stage totes of frozen + Enters data and product locations accurately using a hand scanner + Read daily order sheets and find appropriate product in the warehouse + Loads and unloads trailers on the dock + Performs a pre-operation maintenance check on the forklift and reports any operating issues + Charges forklift batteries + Performs other duties as assigned + Ability to balance multiple tasks, be flexible, and work well under pressure. + Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment. + Ability to safely operate a forklift to load and unload trucks, and high stacking totes of product. **Typical Education** High school diploma or general education degree (GED) **Relevant Experience** + 1+ years related experience and/or training + Prior experience in a cold storage warehouse environment + Good knowledge of computer systems and other technology **Required Certifications** + Must obtain and maintain a Forklift Certification + Position may require employee to obtain and maintain annual Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) certification for entry into low oxygen freezer environment, which involves wearing a tight-fitting mask. + Position may require employee to obtain and maintain annual Authorized Fall Protection Certification + Position may require employee to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certification **Other Information** **Physical Demands:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
