The Lube Technician is responsible for performing express lube duties on vehicles. This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential duties include adhering to express lube guidelines, performing lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil and filter, lubricating all joints including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rods ends and ball joints, reporting all necessary repairs to service advisor, installing completed LOF reminder sticker in vehicle, checking battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refilling as needed, checking coolant level and refilling as necessary, ensuring that vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints, checking fluid level prior to release of vehicle to ensure proper levels, maintaining CSI at or above Company standards, maintaining an organized, clean and safe work area, participating in required training, recording all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system, following Safeguards rules and regulations, demonstrating the Company’s Core Values, complying with Company policies and procedures, observing all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a high school diploma, up to 3 years of automotive work experience, basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems, demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge, technical training or commensurate technical experience, valid driver’s license, basic computer skills, ability to understand and follow instructions, ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel, regular and predictable attendance including possible evening hours, weekends, and holidays, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, ability to work in service area conditions including exposure to noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and interaction with service advisors and managers, ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence, ability to perform basic math, and ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
