Headquartered in Paterson, NJ, Straight and Narrow provides services to individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We seek dedicated, caring professionals for our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs. Position: Credentialed Counselor Intern (PAID) Location: Paterson, NJ Job Summary: The counselor plays a vital role in the treatment team, conducting assessments, therapy sessions, and case management to support clients, especially those with co-occurring mental health issues. Responsibilities include: Assess client needs and diagnose using DSM and standardized tools; Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans; Provide counseling and case management services; Coordinate with referral sources and participate in multidisciplinary teams; Document all services accurately and timely; Participate in supervision, team meetings, and training; Support clients' participation in recovery activities; Qualifications: Must be an LSW or LAC, or enrolled in a relevant graduate program with progress documented; For substance abuse counseling, hold or be pursuing LCADC or CADC, or other relevant license; Familiarity with NJSAMS, ASAM, LOCI, and Drug Court policies; Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills; Experience in fee-for-service settings is a plus.
