Department: GV Sterile Processing

FTE: PRN, 0.0, 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Evenings

Pay: $22.14 - $28.78 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary: Join our team as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician I, where you will perform essential sterile processing tasks to support surgical teams and ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough decontamination and cleaning of instruments and equipment according to established Instructions for Use (IFUs), including disassembly when necessary and selecting appropriate cleaning methods.
• Conduct effective sterilization processes for instruments and equipment, ensuring all indicators, filters, and labels are accurate and adhere to IFUs.
• Carry out routine sterilization equipment testing, including biological monitoring, leak testing, and Bowie-Dick tests.
• Accurately document all work performed using instrument tracking software and paper documentation as required.
• Utilize critical thinking and make decisive judgments while working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Required Licensure/Certification: Certification as a CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) from CBSPD or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from HSPA.
• Minimum Experience: No prior experience required; however, 3 months of certified experience is preferred.
