Job Opening: Flex Vehicle Operator
Location: Ann Arbor, MI
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time
Assignment Length: 6-month contract (ends 10/12/2025)
We’re helping a tech company hire Flex Vehicle Operators to test and drive self-driving vehicles. You'll drive specially equipped vehicles on public and private roads, collecting important data and reporting any issues. Your feedback helps engineers improve the technology.
What You'll DoDrive test vehicles safely on roads for long periods (up to 8 hours/day)
Collect data using special software and tools
Report technical issues and observations to the engineering team
Keep calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
Communicate clearly with team members and the public
Train and support new drivers when needed
Keep important documents organized and shared with the team
7+ years of driving experience with a clean driving record
Able to pass background checks and drug screenings
Comfortable using computers and learning new tech tools
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Safe driver in all weather , including snow
Bonus if you have:
Experience with autonomous (self-driving) vehicles or ADAS systems
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Familiarity with Linux
Monday–Friday
Two shifts available:
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
(You’ll be placed on one of the shifts. There’s some flexibility.)
