Our Opportunity: Chewy is hiring an Associate Director of Performance Marketing to focus on a Mid + Lower funnel paid digital marketing campaign portfolio focused in large scalable digital ad platforms like Meta and Google (and others) driving programs focused on growing net sales and active customers via select strategic vendor product catalogs. The role requires the flexibility to roll up your sleeves and manage campaign setup, day-to-day management, tracking of campaign/channel performance, and monitoring these activities while also easily flexing to a strategic purview to translate those actions back to senior leaders + staff a team of campaign managers as the program scales efficiently. The ideal candidate is relentless, data-driven, innovative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight. We are looking for someone who is equally passionate about marketing technology, measurement, ad platform functionality, audience segmentation, and creative strategy to scale out a new marketing function in close collaboration with partners. What You’ll Do:

  • Own the development of successful paid digital strategies focusing on cohort analysis, audience segmentation, and campaign objectives that will drive target outputs in alignment with merchandising strategy
  • Partner closely with Sponsored Ads, Integrated Marketing, Merchandising, and Ad Platform stakeholders to drive the channel strategy and deliver best in class execution across setup, optimization, and creative iteration
  • Fluently convey the values of campaigns with objectives at different funnel stages, articulate 3P reporting trends, and build 1P understanding of media incrementality on our objectives
  • Build and manage mechanisms that convey progress on goals and roadmap inputs, and represent performance of channel investment and performance vs. financial plan
  • Act as a leader communicating with platform account management teams to ensure we’re leveraging best practices + the right ad product solutions and that our support teams are appropriately resourced
  • Maintain a sharp focus on the industry, ad platform developments, and translate that POV into strategic recommendations that demonstrate active budget management in the channel
  • Design and execute structured A/B tests focused on campaign management, incrementality, and creative
  • Seamlessly partner with Marketing Analytics and Product teams to troubleshoot technical bugs or develop performance monitoring, reporting, or tracking needs
  • Lead the hiring process for a skilled team of subject matter experts, and act as leader on a nimble and fast paced team of cross-channel stakeholders
What You’ll Need:
  • 7+ years of digital media experience, 2+ years people management
  • Experience managing large-scale paid social e-commerce focused campaigns
  • Technical skills to manage product ads, product feeds / catalog optimization, ad tracking, and conversion tracking + advanced measurement solutions
  • Strong understanding of major ad platform algorithms, ad products, optimization levers, and roadmaps also pertaining to broader industry developments impacting our program
  • Ability to manage the strategy while inspecting the tactical execution on new campaigns, manage up on performance reads, strategic evolution and development of POVs and insights that help the business scale
  • Knowledge of biddable and programmatic digital media inputs and ad experiences across lower, mid, and upper funnel tactics in Paid Search + Paid Social
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize resources while working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and growing organization while leading improvement of nascent cross-functional processes
  • Strong understanding of the data privacy landscape including platform updates and upcoming changes
  • Mindset and ability to present ideas to senior level leadership, take feedback, and engage in debates to hone our strategy and drive growth for the business
  • Advanced Excel skills and basic SQL skills
