Summary of Position: The Aerial Lineman is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining coax and fiber optic communications cabling. Duties and Responsibilities: Set poles and place anchors for overhead telecommunication lines Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair overhead power lines and associated equipment Climb poles and towers and use bucket trucks to access power line Test electrical equipment and components for proper operations Read and interpret technical plans, blueprints and diagrams Follow all company and departmental procedures and regulations including all safety requirements Safety training as required by position Paperwork filing and maintenance as needed Essential Education and Qualifications: Minimum of 6 months verifiable experience Valid drivers license Valid DOT Health Card Possess strong knowledge of electrical safety, safety regulations and industry standards Ability to communicate and listen effectively with customers, employees, etc. Basic knowledge of and ability to operate hand tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe manner Preferred Skill Class A Driver’s License (CDL) Physical Demands: Must be able to endure activity involved with the job which may include prolonged and repeated lifting, bending, crouching, climbing, kneeling, reaching, holding, standing and walking Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds Pay Scale : $23/hr to $35/hr Benefits offered to eligible employees include medical, dental, vision, and supplemental life insurance, along with Paid Time Off, paid Holidays, traditional and ROTH 401(k) options with company match, employee stock purchase plan, education assistance program, employee assistance program, training and development opportunities, Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program, and a Commercial Driver’s License obtainment program.
