Description This position provides direct rehabilitative services to chemically addicted clients with guidance and support in their recovery journey.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Primary Responsibilities: - Collaborates with physicians and other health care personnel in patient evaluation and treatment to further their understanding of social and emotional factors underlying the patients health problem.
- Conducts screening for substance use and mental health disorders and conducts comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments.
- Develops treatment plans and develops long term plans with attention to social services, family, housing, vocational, educational, health and mental health, and legal needs.
- Provides individual or group counseling sessions to help patients understand, accept, and follow treatment recommendations.
- Prepares and informs patients of treatment and/or program changes.
- Utilizes community resources to assist patients resume life in the community.
- Provides family counseling.
- Provides services planned to restore the patient to optimum social and physical health within the patients capacity.
- Provides crisis intervention as necessary.
- Facilitates aftercare for long-term recovery.
- Prepares patient history, plans, and reports.
- Participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- Maintains continuing education requirements.
- Satisfactory completion of mandatory trainings.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education and Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors degree in behavioral health services, social work, or social science
- Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)
- Two (2) years experience providing direct services.
Skills and Abilities: - Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and interested healthcare professionals, and to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Knowledge of the basic principles, practices, and techniques used in substance use counseling,
- Demonstrated ability to develop and carry out treatment plans in a clinical setting.
- Tact, good judgment, strong initiative, resourcefulness, and understanding the principles of medical confidentiality.
Physical Demands: - Ability to hear and listen.
- Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Use of hands are required for tasks such as typing, writing, handling documents, and using office equipment.
- Ability to speak Spanish when delivering services is desired
- Must have observation skills, mental alertness, and emotional stability.
Compensation details: 50000-60000 Yearly Salary
